Before a booking is agreed

A website enquiry or calculator estimate is not a booking and creates no payment obligation. Tell us if you no longer want to proceed. Cancellation of an agreed clean is dealt with under the booking confirmation and the rights explained here.

Consumer cooling-off rights

If you are a consumer and your cleaning service agreement is made at a distance, such as by email or telephone under a distance-sales arrangement, or away from our business premises, the Consumer Contracts Regulations can give you a right to cancel without a reason. For an eligible service contract, the normal period ends 14 days after the day the contract is entered into.

Tell us by email, post to the address in your booking confirmation, or another clear statement. You do not have to use the model form below. Sending your cancellation notice before the deadline is enough. A booked date for cleaning a holiday property is not, by itself, the exception for providing accommodation.

If you request a clean during those 14 days

Before starting, we must obtain your express request to start early and provide the applicable cancellation information. For an off-premises agreement the early-start request must be recorded in a durable format. If you cancel after a properly requested early start, we may charge only the proportionate amount for service supplied before cancellation, where the legal conditions for that charge are met.

The right is lost after full performance only if the service began with your prior express consent and your acknowledgement that full performance would end that right. We do not infer that agreement from a website enquiry, privacy notice, preselected box or proposed cleaning date. If the required information or request was not provided, different legal rules may apply and we do not assume a charge is due.

Refunds after statutory cancellation

Where a statutory cancellation refund is due, we repay the amount owed without undue delay and within 14 days of being told of the cancellation, using the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise. A lawful proportionate early-service charge can be deducted where the conditions above are met. We do not charge a refund fee.

Other changes or cancellations

Outside a statutory cooling-off right, please contact us promptly. Any cancellation terms must have been clearly disclosed and agreed before booking, be fair and reflect legitimate losses rather than an automatic disproportionate penalty. This website sets no blanket late-cancellation fee. A commercial cleaning contract may have separate agreed arrangements.

Problems with an agreed clean

Cooling-off rights are separate from your rights when a service is not provided with reasonable care and skill. Read our service terms and complaints procedure. We do not use a “no refunds” policy to remove statutory remedies.

Use this only if you wish to cancel an applicable service agreement. You can copy it into an email to contact@sunshinecleaningderbyshire.co.uk. The geographical address for postal notices is also included in your written booking confirmation.

Delete whichever of “I/We” does not apply. You do not need to give a reason for exercising a statutory cancellation right.
